About CISOMO II

“CISOMO II” project is 24 Months visionary initiative aimed at deepening the impact of European fundamental values through the expansion of thematic living labs. With a primary focus on advancing freedom, justice, security, and democracy within the context of European Integration, the project places a strong emphasis on the vital role of civil society in promoting migration solidarity. Its Key Theoretical Pillars are three (3): 1.Integration and Empowerment: Empowering migrant and refugee communities through integration initiatives and capacity-building. 2.Civil Engagement and Advocacy: Fostering civic engagement by civil society organizations concerning refugees and migrants. 3.Solidarity Networks and Resilience: Recognizing grassroots networks and community resilience as essential elements of migration solidarity. “CISOMO II” project envisions an inclusive and dynamic approach to fostering solidarity, engagement, and integration, guided by the principles of democracy, justice, and European fundamental values. Thematic living labs serve as innovative spaces where stakeholders collectively contribute to enhancing migration solidarity within the European Union. “CISOMO II” aligns seamlessly with EU values, making it a powerful catalyst for positive change.The conceptual milestone of “Thematic Living Labs for European Solidarity” represents a turning point in the project’s evolution. The generator methodology’s force lies in its recognition of contemporary societal shifts, the EU’s priority for citizen engagement, and the promotion of unity in a complex world.
 
The 24-month work plan of CISOMO II is organized into 12 distinct Work Packages (WPs), each designed to target a specific aspect of migration solidarity, civic engagement, and resilience-building.

CISOMO II Thematic Phases & Pillar-based Events:

Phase 1: Study Visits – Learning from European Best Practices

Study visits allow partners, stakeholders, and local communities to engage with real-world migration initiatives and identify best practices for refugee support and advocacy.

WP3 – Study Visit in Germany (Munich): Explored Germany’s civil society role in refugee and migrant advocacy, highlighting successful advocacy efforts.
WP2 – Study Visit in Bulgaria (Sofia): Focuses on integration and empowerment initiatives for migrants in Bulgaria.
WP4 – Study Visit in Greece (Thessaloniki): Examines grassroots movements and solidarity networks, understanding how local organizations support refugees.

The next phase involves expert-led round table discussions, fostering debates, knowledge exchange, and collaborative solutions.

WP5 – 1st Round Table (Denmark): A discussion on integrating and empowering migrant communities.
WP6 – 2nd Round Table (Sweden): A continuation of WP5, focusing on civil engagement and advocacy.

CISOMO II introduces Thematic Living Labs, where civil society actors, migrants, and local stakeholders collaborate, test, and refine innovative approaches to migration solidarity.

WP8 – EmpowerMigra Living Lab (Slovenia): A citizen-driven hub for empowerment and integration.
WP9 – EmpowerEngage Lab (Romania): A living lab dedicated to civic engagement and advocacy.
WP10 – Solidarity Nexus Living Lab (Poland): A final lab focused on building resilient and inclusive communities.
 

As CISOMO II nears completion, the focus shifts toward synthesizing lessons learned, fostering long-term collaboration, and celebrating achievements.

WP11 – Citizens United Collaborative Living Lab (Greece): Integrates all three pillars, ensuring sustainability.
WP12 – Closing Citizens’ Festival (Greece): A celebration of solidarity, engagement, and European unity.

Expected Results:
